Sharing a player over the internet

Is there anyway have the “player” become a web based application?

My family is pretty spread out (mostly US, England, Taiwan, HK, and Japan)… and I’ve been looking at a way for us to do a family/group karaoke event. Most are geared around a local instance/player rather than something that can be used remotely.

so far the project seems to allow many people to see the queue and search for songs… but no adding to the queue or most importantly being able to a playing instance remotely.

Is this an option (either native feature or possible via a SSL VPN style scheme).

Thanks

Hello there.

Sorry for replying this late, we’re still learning how to configure Discourse a little, haha.

As for your question, the only way to do that would be to share your player using Discord via the share screen/window feature. It’s not perfect as there’s a small lag, but to this day no one can really sync karaoke over the internet because there’s lag from both the video/song and your voice, and you can’t really be sure everyone won’t be out of sync.
