I had an idea yesterday while cutting the credits of a video.
I think that it would be a great idea to add a tool to trim videos directly in the Karaoke Mugen app, in addition to the encoder (afaik for now it’s only available on the maintener side).
It can be something simple, like entering the timecode of the beginning and the end of the video, because a lot of people aren’t comfortable with ffmpeg and wouldn’t bother with cutting videos. Moreover, it comes down to reencoding a video that has already been reencoded. And, afaik, Karaoke Mugen already uses ffmpeg to reencode videos, so it would be a simple argument to add to the command, and the Karaoke Mugen encoder is already really powerful and intelligent since its parameters to the data of the video (correct me if I’m wrong).
Finally, I truly think that it would be really beneficial to make the encoder available for everyone, even people that aren’t mainteners. Yes, the HandBrake preset already exists, but I think that the Karaoke Mugen encoder is better, and it would be more intuitive for everyone to just use the tool made for Karaoke Mugen. It could be included in the app, or as a separated app that would be linked in the doc.
